Mayor Anthony Suarez criticized council Republicans on Monday for an attempt to terminate Borough Administrator Roberta Stern's $110,000-a-year contract.
Suarez said the talk of saving money is window dressing for what is, at its core, a political move. He said Republicans are looking to install one of their appointees in the slot.
Suarez also criticized Todd for introducing the resolution at the last minute and said it appears that Stern did not get a Rice notice - a state requirement whenever the council is discussing an employee's performance or contract. You can't help but see through Councilmen Todd and Vincentz's real agenda for the Borough of Ridgefield. If these men truly wanted to save money, why did they hire a former Republican Mayor and political operative to a self-created position; why do they hire their campaign workers for positions in town hall when they are unnecessary; why have they wasted so much money on foolish undertakings, like suing their own zoning board?
It seems that the real victim here is not just the Borough Administrator, but the residents of the Borough of Ridgefield.
