Mayor Anthony R. Suarez

Mayor Anthony Ronald Suarez traces his family's roots in town to his Great-Grandfather who moved to the Borough in the early 1940's. Anthony is a product of the town's school system, graduating from Ridgefield Memorial High School, and Saint Peter's College in Jersey City. Anthony then attended and graduated from Fordham University School of Law in New York City, and is presently a partner in a Fort Lee law firm, where he engages in the general practice of law.

Anthony has always been active in public service which includes serving as a Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus; volunteering time at a soup kitchen; past Vice President for Ridgefield UNICO; Minister of the Word, money counter and past member of the Parish Council for Saint Matthew's Church; and membership in the Ridgefield Manufacturer's Association.

As a Councilman, Anthony served on almost all of the Borough's major committees, including Finance, where he was able to cut taxes and hold the line on tax increases for a number of years. Anthony is proud of his accomplishments to date, which include open government, greater services, and professional town management. Anthony's connections on the local, county and state level are numerous, and he attributes his activism to the Borough's receipt of over one million dollars in state aid and other grants which the Borough had never received in the past.

Anthony presently resides on Oak Street, only one block away from where he grew up, with his wife Catherine, daughter Laura Anne and son Matthew Anthony.
