Candidate For Council
Phil Ganci

Phil and his wife Frances have lived in Ridgefield for over 20 years and have one daughter, Nicole who graduated from Ridgefield Memorial High School in 2005. She received her undergraduate degree from Fordham University in 2008 and is attending Law School in the fall of 2009.

Phil graduated from Don Bosco Preparatory High School in 1975. He attended Rutgers University where he studied Political Science and Government and is currently pursuing a master’s degree. Thirty years ago, Phil started an insurance brokerage and risk management company, which he still owns and operates today.

Phil has dedicated much of his time to the town of Ridgefield. For the past 3 years, he has served as a member of the Board of Education and was recently chosen as chairman of finance. He was instrumental in putting together the school budget of 2009-2010 which only had a 1.8% tax increase. He has worked in this position to make important strides in the education of our town’s children. Additionally, he is currently a member of the Planning Board and has been so for over 6 years. In this position he was instrumental in creating the town’s first redevelopment plan and is dedicated to seeing its completion.

Phil is running for Council because he is frustrated with the political statement in town and wants to put citizens first and eliminate the current climate of political agendas and impasse. He will focus on relieving the burden of the taxpayers. He looks forward to putting the wants and needs of the citizens first.
