Russ Castelli is a long time resident of Ridgefield and an active parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church. He is married to Donna and the father of four children; Elana, Michael, Joy and Matthew as well as a grandfather. Donna is a life long resident of Ridgefield and a member of the Ridgefield Library board and volunteers at the youth center. Russ has always been active in public service which is evidenced by his membership in the Knights of Columbus, where he holds the distinction of Third Degree Knight in Council 3550 of Ridgefield and Fourth Degree Knight in Council 0686 of Cliffside Park. He is also a past recipient of the “Citizen of the Year Award” and “Red Cross Award”. Russ previously served the Borough as Chairman of the Rent Leveling Commission; member of the Environmental Commission; and volunteer with the Office of Emergency Management where he helped residents in times of distress and need. Currently, Russ is a member of the Ridgefield Planning Board. Russ is a retired Electrical Engineer, and received his education after graduation from Hillside High School, Hillside NJ at Union County Technical Institute, Newark State College (Kean) and Newark College of Engineering (NJIT). Prior to his retirement, Russ worked for Princeton University; New York Power Authority; American Can Corp.; Foster Wheeler Corporation; and for water treatment plants throughout the country. Russ looks forward to using his past experiences and interest in public service to benefit all of the residents of the Borough of Ridgefield. |
